Dear , With the news of a Covid second wave this edition of the AUKI partner mailing contains important information about AUKI’s continuity of services – and how we’re keeping our clients, staff and volunteers safe. What's the situation? Age UK Islington's support during Covid-1 & our current service Age UK Islington have been able to continue to support people through Covid-1 – mainly through our Helpline and Wellbeing Calls. During the last two months we’ve been transitioning back to our full Wellbeing in 1 operations model. As part of our normal operations we have recently restarted delivering some face to face work with clients for whom this is the only realistic method of support. Our Link Workers and Navigators are also back at GP practices and other Network & MDT settings. Keeping flexible so we can respond quickly to changes It is unclear how long a second wave – Covid-2 will last but we know it’s likely to impact us all. The changes to ‘guidelines’ and regulations are hard to predict and likely to keep changing. So we know that we need to be prepared for various scenarios. Our starting point & key priorities for Covid-2 Building on what we’ve learnt and put in place during Covid-1 In terms of our preparations for Covid-2, we’re not starting from scratch. During Covid -1, we put a lot of systems in place to help people keep safe - including regular individual risk assessments, PPE, extra routine cleaning and additional monitoring. Delivering a wide range of support Given what we know about client’s current needs and the needs of the wider population at this time, we’re aiming to deliver the widest range of options to support people through the impact of a second wave. Our priority is to do this whilst keeping our clients, staff and volunteers safe.
