Festive Gifts for Islington Carers As carers, so much attention, time, love, and energy goes outwards, taking care of others. We'd like to give you some time for you and to boost your own wellbeing reserves at this busy time of year.
Our online Self-Compassion taster session will include some reflective exercises, gently led meditation practice and an intention of relaxing and bringing an attitude of kindness, compassion and appreciation towards ourselves. The Wreath-making will be a fun session with materials included.
Carers Wellbeing Day was Fantastic! We all really enjoyed Carers Wellbeing Day last week, marking Carers Rights Day. This was the first in-person Carers Rights Day event for some time and it was fantastic to see everyone again in person. Nearly 60 Islington unpaid carers took a breather from caring for what was an informative and social day, supported by local NHS & Council teams and Community organisations.
Helping Client Andrew with Mobility & Housing issues When Andrew who is in his late 70s, was discharged from hospital, it was discovered that the tiny flat where he had been living in for years had become unsafe for him due to mobility issues. He was also very isolated and he had essentially become a prisoner in his own home. Find out how one of Age UK Islington's Navigators, Constance, was able to help Andrew and read tips and guidance about applying for sheltered housing and financial support to help with care.
